General terms for renting a car from TS – Low Cost Cars

To enter into a rental agreement, the renter must present a valid driving licence issued at least two years earlier, as well as a valid identity card or passport. The minimum age for renting a car is 23. These requirements are important because they allow the driver’s entitlement to drive and identity to be checked when the car is collected.

Payment methods

Payment can be made with Eurocard, Mastercard and Visa credit cards. Cash payment is also possible when agreed with the team in advance. Before confirmation, it is advisable to clarify the payment method, the selected additional services and all applicable fees so that there is no discrepancy between the request and the final price.

Insurance

The rental price includes third-party liability insurance in accordance with Bulgarian law. Additional insurance can also be added according to the customer’s preferences and the level of protection they want during the rental.

Additional AI insurance is taken out for an extra charge at the customer’s request. It reduces liability for damage to tyres, rims, the windscreen and chassis when the contractual conditions are fulfilled and the notification rules are followed.

Super insurance CDW + TP is also taken out for an extra charge and releases the customer from liability for a broader range of damage, but does not apply to tyres, rims, the windscreen or chassis. CASCO insurance includes Super insurance CDW + TP and Additional AI insurance, providing more comprehensive coverage than the standard options.

When additional insurance has been taken out, the renter’s liability in the event of damage or theft is reduced to the amount of the deposit, but this does not remove the obligation to provide a police report in the event of an incident. If such a document is not provided, the insurance may be deemed invalid under the agreement.

What the insurance and fees do not cover

The insurance and fees accepted by the renter do not cover damage to or loss of parts of the car’s interior, the aerial, wipers, badges, radio, CD player, navigation system or mirrors, windows broken through negligence, theft of personal luggage, or damage to tyres, rims, hubcaps and running gear where the relevant coverage does not apply. This is why it is important to use the car responsibly and inspect it carefully both at collection and at return.

When insurance is invalid

All insurance is deemed invalid when the car is used to transport hazardous goods, for illegal passenger or goods transport, when the car is handed to an unauthorised driver, when driving under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances, when driving off paved roads, when leaving the country without permission and when unauthorised repairs are made to the car. In the event of damage or theft, the renter must immediately notify a TS – Low Cost Cars employee and the competent authorities. If a report from the traffic police or the relevant authority is not provided, all insurance may be deemed invalid and the renter is fully liable for the damage, lost profits and the full value of the car under the agreement.

Additional services

Car delivery and collection services are provided upon prior request. Within Sofia, Varna and Burgas, the service is free during working hours when confirmed in advance. A separate fee may apply to airport service. A fee is also charged for an additional driver and for additional equipment such as an infant seat, child seat or navigation system.

Charges for missing items and expenses

A fee of EUR 200.00 is charged for lost documents, keys or registration plates. Missing fuel is charged at EUR 2.00 per litre of petrol or diesel. These terms have a practical purpose and should be checked before the rental begins, especially when the route involves long distances, airport collections or returning the car to a different location.

VAT and pricing clarifications

All prices are in euros and exclude 20% VAT unless expressly stated otherwise in the specific offer or confirmation. Before booking, it is advisable to check the final price, rental period, type of insurance and all additional services so that the agreement is clear and meets the actual needs of the trip.

What to check in advance

  • whether the driving licence meets the minimum period of 2 years;
  • whether you have selected suitable insurance coverage;
  • whether airport fees, a second driver and additional equipment have been clarified;
  • whether the payment method and final price have been confirmed before the rental.
